Where the Aegean Slows to a Walk

Zeytin Bay steps down a Bodrum hillside in terraces of stone and white plaster, its gardens threaded with olive trees old enough to have given the resort its name. Infinity pools run toward the sea in a single unbroken line, so a sunrise swim and the Aegean beyond it read as almost the same water. By day the gardens hold guests at once, children chasing each other under the olive canopy, a couple finding the one quiet ledge where the pool meets the horizon. Evenings settle into bougainvillea-lined paths and rooms that open straight onto the water, the day's noise already gone. Zeytin Bay doesn't separate rest from togetherness.
